OBHG Recruiting Paramedic Liaisons for Provincial Committees
The Ontario Base Hospital Group (OBHG) is inviting Ontario paramedics to apply to serve as Paramedic Liaisons on provincial committees.
RPPEO is particularly pleased to share this opportunity with paramedics in Eastern Ontario. It has been some time since our region has had paramedic representation on these committees, and we would welcome renewed participation from Eastern Ontario. Our paramedics bring valuable experience from urban, rural and remote practice environments, as well as from working across a large and diverse region. We hope interested paramedics will consider bringing that Eastern Ontario perspective to the provincial table.
Paramedic Liaisons bring frontline perspectives into provincial discussions about clinical practice, education, quality improvement and the broader paramedic system. They provide operational insight, review proposed initiatives and resources, identify emerging issues, and help maintain two-way communication between frontline paramedics and provincial system partners.
Current opportunities
OBHG is recruiting for:
- Medical Advisory Committee (MAC): 1 ACP and 1 PCP
- Data Quality Management Subcommittee (DQM): 1 PCP
- Educational Subcommittee (ESC): 1 PCP
These are three-year appointments, with committee meetings occurring quarterly. Additional time may be required for preparation, working groups, special projects and communication with colleagues and system partners.
Who should consider applying?
Applicants must be currently certified and employed in good standing as paramedics in Ontario. OBHG is seeking people with strong communication and interpersonal skills, an interest in professional development and system improvement, and an ability to gather and communicate perspectives from across the paramedic community. Previous committee, project, educational or leadership experience is an asset, but is not required.
If you are an Eastern Ontario paramedic interested in contributing beyond your own service or community, this is an opportunity to bring your experience to provincial discussions and help ensure our region's perspectives are represented.
How to apply
Applicants are asked to submit:
- a brief letter of interest outlining their experience, reasons for applying and the committee or committees of interest
- a current résumé or CV
- a letter of support from their paramedic service operator/employer
- a letter of support from their certifying Base Hospital
Applications are due January 5, 2027, and should be submitted to OBHG at obhg@cepcp.ca.
