The Ministry of Health has published a partial revision to the Advanced Life Support Patient Care Standards (ALS PCS) that will come into force on Monday, November 23, 2020.

 ALS PCS version 4.8 contains both administrative and practice changes.

Paramedics should familiarize themselves with the practice changes brought about by these updates to the ALS PCS.

The Ontario Base Hospital Group Education Subcommittee has prepared a memo outlining the practice changes you can expect when the ALS PCS comes into force.

For the administrative changes, see the memo from the Ministry of Health's Emergency Health Regulatory and Accountability Branch dated November 9, 2020.

The RPPEO will provide guidance regarding practice changes specific to the Patients with Possible COVID-19 - Auxiliary Directive to services and paramedics affected by the changes to that medical directive.
