It was a Year Like No Other for All of Us

In a year where we focused on coping and wellbeing over productivity, the measures of RPPEO successes are unlike other years. As we moved through the tension of unknowns and the stress of continuous adaptation, 2020 challenged us to grow as people - and as an organization. On Boxing Day, the Government-ordered shutdown of Ontario began. With new infections hovering near an average of 2.300 a day, deaths increasing to just under 50 a day, and hospitalizations due to COVID reaching about 1,000 each day, the system of alert levels is temporarily suspended. Public Health modelling suggests that Ontario infection rates have not yet peaked. All areas of the province are required to observe additional closures and stay-at-home advisories for non-essential outings until January 9, with all of southern Ontario under shutdown until January 23.
