SUMMARY

Children don’t always make it easy to examine them!

Join Dr. Sara-Pier Piscopo, RPPEO Associate Medical Director and Emergency Physician at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) for a practical, case-based session exploring strategies for getting the most out of the pediatric physical exam, even when children are scared, very young, or medically complex.

The session will also review important red flags for child abuse and neglect, when and how concerns must be reported, and how to document findings clearly and effectively should your notes ever be required as medical-legal evidence.

There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions, share experiences, and discuss the challenges paramedics encounter when assessing children and supporting families in the field.

Registration is open to all. RPPEO paramedics who attend will receive credit toward Fall 2026 CME and should register using their service email address so attendance can be properly recorded. Paramedics affiliated with other base hospitals are welcome to attend and may request CME credit from their own base hospital, subject to local requirements.
