Can a Service policy differ from BHP policy regarding who attends to the patient on a call?

Question:

I was told, the list of patients who can be attended to by the PCP partner of an ACP is changing, to it being fewer patients. Can a service have a policy, that differs from BHP? Such as a PCP attending on a call where an ACP has started an IV, regardless of the reason. Can the service have a policy against it, even if it is allowable by base hospital? If so what policy do we follow?

Answer:

No that is not the case. Please talk directly to your service for their expectations. We expect everyone to follow Base Hospital protocols. However, where the service has additional protocols, you probably need to follow both sets.
