If my vital signs are good but the 1st crew's vital signs were outside the parameters can I still follow my protocol?

Question:

Can you please clarify the time from for a patient’s vital signs being out of protocol. Eg. 2nd car on scene, treat for chest pain (NTG), vital signs are just within the allowable parameters, however the vital signs taken by first crew on scene are outside parameters.

Answer:

Once you're outside of the parameters/medical directive, you are out. You cannot wait for the vital signs to return to normal parameters & resume treatment (or do so artificially, i.e. with a bolus). It’s not about the initial set of vital signs for a crew, but rather initial set of vital signs for a patient during a same event/call.
