Epi administration VSA patient post ROSC

Question from a paramedic coaching session:



Situation: An ACP is attending a VSA call. The ACP administers EPI. 2 minutes later the patient is a ROSC. Then goes back to VSA before the 4 minutes interval for EPI. Should the ACP wait the 4 minutes mark before administering the EPI or can the EPI be administered right away? why?

Answer:

 

Continue where you left off. Epinephrine half life is less than 5 minutes and can be administered right away.
