Can a PCP give nitroglycerin to a patient, with IV access, during an interfacility transfer?

Question:

In the PCP Cardiac Ischemia Medical Directive, one of the conditions is a prior history of nitroglycerin use or IV access obtained. If paramedics do a transfer from one hospital to another with a patient who starts to have "by the book" chest pain fitting the protocol except the IV was started by the sending facility, can they treat with nitroglycerin since with the IV patient now fits protocol?"

Answer:

Yes, they may if the PCP is certified to the level of PCP Autonomous IV.
